The Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (SRBX) was founded in 1901 to serve the industrial and commercial construction industry by providing education programs, safety programs, bidding information political advocacy, networking opportunities and other related information and events for the construction industry. Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF)
The Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) was born out of the SRBX to introduce and engage high school students and young adults to the rewarding careers available in the built environment. In 2022, CIEF served more than 4000 students through its programs and awarded more than $100,000 in academic and summer program scholarships. Urata & Sons is proud to be a participant in this program by providing mentorship to students in the CREATE program, hands-on demonstrations at the annual Trades Day, gift donations for the annual Holiday Toy Drive, participating in the many fund-raising events throughout the year and serving on the Board of Trustees.

Associated Schools of Construction (ASC)
Urata & Sons is a proud sponsor of and mentor to a Concrete Solutions team in the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Competition. The ASC is the professional association for the development and advancement of construction education. This annual competition places college-level teams against one another in regional areas, to solve a construction problem provided by the organization requiring teams to do constructability reviews, quantitative take-off and detailed estimates, scheduling, development of construction sequencing and logistics plans, ensure project specifications are met, all while addressing crew and personal safety needs. This process requires the participants to use OST programs, Bluebeam Revu, multiple Microsoft Office programs, Revit Structure or a similar modeling program and Primavera P6 or a similar scheduling software. Teams work for weeks, preparing their solution to the problem and then present their solution at the competition in Reno, NV. This program is a great experience for the students and provides real world application for the academic knowledge they are learning in school.

Navy Seal Foundation
The Navy Seal Foundation provides critical support for the warriors, veterans and families of Naval Special Warfare. The NSW community is one of, if not THE, most elite fighting forces in the world. The Navy SEAL Foundation, established in 2000, is a nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive set of over 30 essential programs for SEALs, SWCCs, veterans, and their families under five Pillars of Support - Strength, Resilience, Health, Education, and Community. The Navy SEAL Foundation stands at the forefront of crucial care for this unique community. They exist to help keep our warriors in the fight. The Foundation is an aid in transition to successful careers in the civilian sector. Should tragic circumstances occur and a member of NSW does not return home, they are there to assist their families every step of the way. Battle of the Bay Charity Bocce Ball
In 1999, Steve Mariucci, also known as Coach Mooch, founded the Battle of the Bay Charity Bocce Ball tournament. This tournament was created to benefit local and national charities, bringing together professional athletes, celebrities, dignitaries and business leaders for a fun day of bocce ball at the beautiful Campo di Bocce facility. Since its inception, the event has raised over $8 million, with recent beneficiaries such as: Peninsula Boys & Girls Club, Mariucci Foundation, Diabetic Youth Foundation, Easter Seals Kaleidoscope, Northern California Special Olympics, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, local High School football programs, and more. Urata & Sons looks forward to this top-tier networking event, the delicious food and drink provided, the competitive bocce ball games, all while contributing to multiple charities in our local area each year.

3 Strands Global is an anti-human trafficking non-profit organization with a mission not only to end human-trafficking, but also to educate and raise awareness on how prevalent it is. 3 Strands also partners with human trafficking survivors to reintegrate them back into society and assists them in securing employment through their “Employ + Empower” program. Urata & Sons Concrete has proudly supported 3 Strands through various charity golf courses over the years and looks forward to continued donorship.

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing not only in our own city, but also worldwide. Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity had partnered with donors and volunteers to construct, rehabilitate and preserve homes. Urata & Sons Concrete is excited to start a philanthropic relationship with Habitat for Humanity in 2023 – our first build date is in March!
